Volcane Spins
Volcane Spins is one of those games that looks simple in a screenshot and then eats an hour of your evening. You guide a little glowing orb across rotating stone rings suspended over a bubbling volcano, tapping to hop between them at exactly the right moment. Mistime it and you tumble; nail a chain of jumps and the whole board seems to hum along with you.
Controls are pure one-thumb stuff. Tap to jump, hold to charge a longer leap, and that's basically it. The genius is in the timing windows — early levels are forgiving, but by the middle stretch the rings spin at different speeds and you're reading three of them at once. The team kept passing the phone around to beat each other's best runs.
Presentation is warm and a little retro, with a chunky pixel volcano that spits sparks in the background. There's no clutter on screen, no pop-ups yanking you out of the flow. It respects your attention, which is rarer than it should be on mobile.
