Getting unstuck in adventure games
Point-and-click adventures live and die by their puzzles, and getting stuck is part of the deal. The hard part is getting unstuck without immediately reaching for a full walkthrough that ruins the next three hours.
Lanternwood taught me a good habit: when you're stuck, revisit every location and re-examine things you've already seen. Adventure games love hiding the answer in plain sight, in a detail you dismissed early on.
If that fails, talk through the problem out loud, even just to yourself. Naming what you have and what you need often surfaces the connection your brain skipped over. It sounds silly but it works more often than not.
And if you truly need a hint, look for one clue rather than the whole solution. Most communities are decent about spoiler-tagging. Reveal the smallest nudge and let yourself have the satisfaction of the last step.
